Ramakrishna Mission

At the behest of the Government of West Bengal, the Ramakrishna Mission has adopted the management and administration of a School viz. Eklavya Model Residential School (EMRS) at Jhargram, vide execution of a Memorandum of Agreement on 5th January 2016. This co-educational Residential School is entirely meant for the scheduled tribe students and all of them are 1st generation learners. Presently there are 405 students out of which 50% are girls. The school is well equipped with the modern laboratories in the following subjects: Physics, Chemistry, Biology, Geography, and Computer. The library cum reading room has 4588 nos. of books, 253 Santali Titles, 16 Educational Journals, 8 General journals, 6 daily newspapers, 168 DVD/CDs and 38 nos. of Puzzle Games and Quiz Cards. generation learners. Centering this very school, a branch centre of the Ramakrishna Mission, viz. Ramakrishna Mission Ashrama, Jhargram has come to an existence on 20.08.2017. The Govt. of West Bengal has allotted another five acres of land adjacent to the present EMRS campus on lease. Srimat Swami Smarananandaji, the Most Revered President Maharaj, Ramakrishna Math and Ramakrishna Mission, Belur Math, inaugurated the newly constructed Assembly cum Prayer Hall in the new campus of the Ashrama on 7th of December 2019.

EKLAVYA MODEL RESIDENTIAL SCHOOL (EMRS)

Eklavya Model Residential School (EMRS) is a Government of India scheme for model residential school for Indian Tribals (ST, Scheduled Tribes) across India. It is one of the flagship intervention of the Ministry of Tribal Affairs, Government of India and was introduced in the year 1997-98 to ensure tribal students get access to quality education in the remote tribal areas.

With the earnest initiative of the Hon’ble Chief Minister of West Bengal, the management and the academic affairs of the Ekalavya Model Residential School (EMRS), Jhargram have been handed over to the Ramakrishna Mission on 5th January 2016.

Patient Admission

Students belonging to Scheduled Tribe communities are eligible for admission.
